One feature that many people hate about the PS3 is that games must be installed in order to be played. Installs do cut down on loading times but don’t appear to do much else than to eat up precious hard drive space. The 360, with a typically smaller hard drive, hasn’t had mandatory game installs to date but with the announcement of a New 60gb model, could this change? Will 360 systems be receiving installs like the PS3 counterpart? With game developers moving towards less exclusives and more cross platform titles, it would make sense to make the development process as similar as possible. Certain games, such as Soul Calibur 4 Buronout Paradise (The webpage for Soul Calibur 4 was updated to say it will not need a hard drive, but thoughts are that it will need one for create a soul mode), will require a hard drive on the 360 as well. Could this be a sign of things to come? Has this created the need for installs on the 360 and forced microsoft to make hard drives mandatory for 360 owners as well? Leave your thoughts below!
