Sneezies Lite (free) is an iPhone App that is an amusing, original game. It is fun to play, and has great graphics and music, but can be mastered after playing only a few rounds. While it is entertaining, overall, I would only give it three out of five stars.
To play Sneezies Lite, bubbles that contain sneezies float across the screen. The goal of the game is to save as many sneezies as you can in one turn. To make a turn you tap one of the bubbles. Tapping the bubble releases sneezing powder and causes the bubble to burst. The sneezie that was inside the bubble floats to safety, while his sneeze causes a chain reaction that causes other bubbles to burst. Each level you only have one turn to release the sneezing powder and get as many sneezies as you can to safety. For each level there is a target amount of sneezies that you have to save in order to pass on to the next level. For example, on one level you have to get 4 out of 9 sneezies to safety, or 21 out of 30, etc. It does get tricky because you have to choose a sneezie that is close to other sneezies so it will trigger a chain reaction. If you fail to reach the target amount of sneezies saved you are able to repeat the level again. The number of sneezies you save adds up with each level, until the end of level six. This number is your final score.
If I were able to pick something that would make the app better I would say to add more backgrounds, and maybe different challenges to move on to besides just saving a minimum amount of sneezies. For example, it would be nice to have a level where you have to save the sneezies that are over land only and not over water. Or have some other types of challenges, like you could only save a specific number of sneezies, and if you saved more than that you’d have to repeat the level. As is, after a while the game gets a bit monotonous, and I want to quickly move on to something else. Also, the quality of the instructions was just average. I had to play it through a few times before I realized what the goal of the game actually was.
There is a paid and a lite version of this app. The lite version only comes with six levels and a few different backgrounds. The paid version comes with 45 levels in classic mode and 15 in challenge mode. The lite version has options to email high scores, or to become a fan on Facebook.
This app may be better for younger ages, perhaps 10-12 aged kids. It would also help kids learn how to strategize to be able to meet targets and move on to the next level.
There were great graphics in this game. The backgrounds are very peaceful and tranquil, as well as the music. It doesn’t look cheesy, but very classy.
Overall, I would say that this is a good game for kids, but not necessarily for adults. It is a very relaxing game, and amusing to play, but may get monotonous and boring after a while.
