More proof has emerged that Apple will soon be offering a white version of the iPhone 4.
An update to the Apple store iPhone application has given further hints that the white iPhone 4 might not be far off. This morning, the application’s new “Reserve Products” feature offered users the option to reserve the 16GB and the 32GB white iPhone 4 for in-store pickup. However, when users clicked on the option, they weren’t actually able to reserve the smartphone.
Shortly after its dicovery Apple removed the ‘reserve now’ option for each of the iPhone 4 models and replaced it with a ‘not available to reserve’ label.
Its currently unknown whether the option to reserve the white iPhone 4 was a glitch, or that Apple plan to release it soon and the option to ‘reserve now’ was a mistake. Its also worth noting that Apple have not fully removed the white iPhone 4 from the Apple store application, they have simply stated that it is not available to be reserved.
The white iPhone 4 is one of Apples most anticipated products and Apple had previously stated shortly after the release of the original iPhone 4 that the white version would be available in July. However, the release date for the white iPhone 4 was then pushed back to ‘later this year’ due to ‘challenges’ in manufacturing. Since then there has been much speculation as to when and if the device will be made available.
