Just a couple of hours after the launch of the iPhone 4, user reports have been pouring in about the numerous problems that are surfacing with the new Apple iPhone 4.
Early adopters of the brand new gizmo from Apple found that their nice retina displays are showing yellow tint spots. Reports have been coming in from all over with this same exact issue. Most individuals found these yellow spots at the corners of their displays, however, there are those who have yellow streaks or lines horizontally across their screens. Apple representatives have yet to make an official announcement regarding this issue, however, users are also reporting that they are able to swap their iPhones at the store for a brand new one without any issues. Apples stores and AT&T stores have a special stock for incidents like this to allow early adopters to swap out defective units.
A user reports that the yellow tint is not really noticible during the day, however, it does get blatantly more noticible when it’s dark. In addition to this yellow tint problem, users are also reporting that they see random white spots all over their screen, much like constellations. Though reports of this problem are far fewer than the yellow spots many users are seeing, this is truly a troubling scenario for Apple as they are looking to replace hundreds, if not thousands of units.
[UPDATE]: Apple support is now officially informing individuals with the yellow tint problem that the yellow spots are simply residue from the glue adhesive used to secure the glass screen. Apple representatives have said that since manufacturing was rushed to meet the launch, the glue did not have adequate time to dry. They informed callers that the yellow spots should disappear within a few days when the glue have settled.
Since this announcement, users have indeed reported that the yellow tint spots have disappeared, however, there are those who report the yellow spots are not going away. Apple encourages individuals to get their iPhones exchanged if they do not see the issue correcting itself after a few days.
