Verizon iPhone 4 has been announced today, a few hours ago. Verizon will start delivering its service to iPhone and almost all iOS device users are questioning each other “What’s New in Verizon iPhone 4?” In this post I tried my best to reveal those features of Verizon iPhone 4 which are not available on AT&T iPhone 4.
1. A CDMA Antenna:
As we have mentioned earlier in one of our posts today, Verizon iPhone 4 has a CDMA antenna and it is due to accommodate Verizon carrier which is different from AT&T in technology using GSM. Arstechnica has pointed out the fact that there is no significant signal loss while gripping the edges of the Verizon iPhone 4 as most of the users were complaining against poor signal quality of iPhone 4 with AT&T carrier.
2. A Special Operating System iOS 4.2.5:
A special version of operating system iOS 4.2.5 (instead of iOS 4.2.1 on GSM version of the device) was ported on the demo unit of Verizon iPhone 4 on display of the demo unit in today’s great event held for Verizon iPhone 4. The new operating system iOS 4.2.5 supports some special aspects of Verizon & CDMA technicalities especially related to the personal hotspot. It is still a dilemma that which version of Apple’s iOS will be ported on Verizon iPhone 4 when it will launch in the market in the beginning of the next month.
3. Present Cases and Bumpers are misfit for Verizon iPhone 4:
As it is hinted out by TUAW, the buttons on Verizon iPhone 4 have been slightly shifted from their original places as before. Mute switch has been shifted from its previous position to accommodate the new antenna design. Obviously, most of the present iPhone 4 cases and bumpers are now useless for the new Verizon iPhone 4 as they are not fit for it now.
4. There is No SIM-Card Slot Now:
The CDMA Verizon iPhone 4 has no any SIM-Card Slot now which was present in GSM iPhone 4 version; there is no meaning of SIM-Card when you go with CDMA technology.
5. The most prominent Personal Hotspot:
The new CDMA Verizon iPhone 4 absolutely supports the personal hot spot services; you can connect 5 more devices to it to share the phone’s 3G data connection. The iPhone Settings holds the configuration options for the hotspot functionality rather than in a separate application.
