I know you have all probably seen this question plenty of times before, but I just want to make sure you understand all the risks involved before you consider jailbreaking or unlocking your iPhone 3g 2.2.1.
Fist thing is first, you want to back up your iphone 3g : )
If something were to go horribly wrong while jailbreaking your iphone 3G 2.2.1, or something afterwards, you will have to resore to your newest back up.
The worst thing I can think of happening is if your computer crashes in the middles of the jailbreaking process. (So far that is not happen to me) but if it douse then it could potentially cause problems.
I have jail broken my iphone at least 10 times and crashed it about 7 … and so far I have had no problems resoring my iphone 3g.
So what I am trying to say is, you don’t have a high risk of bricking your iphone 3G. the programs are pretty simple … and you got a low chace of really breaking your iphone.
For thouse of your that what to unlock your iphone 3g, when you update to v2.2.1 with 02.30.03 firmware the only unlock is by turbo sim.
There is no soft unlock for v 2.2.1 .
The iphone 3g turbo sim’s are getting better by the day so it is important to get one that is updateable with a usb programmer.
Just to sum it all up ,,, you can update to v 2.2.1 and jailbreak your iphone just make sure you get an turbo sim for the 2.2.1 update
I am an iPhone 3g 2.2
