Mozilla introduces first iPhone application: Firefox Home
Not surprisingly, being not a browser, the Foundation rejecting the constraints imposed by Apple, but a synchronization tool called Firefox Home.
Last October Mozilla Foundation raised a little light on its iPhone roadmap. Some were betting on porting Firefox on the smartphone, hopes quickly dashed.
In early 2010, the publisher announced that it will not develop this version because constraints Apple, unlike to Opera. “To date, we believe that the door is closed from their side. The frame is not balanced, this is not possible to enter when you invest in porting or developing an application,” Nitot explained.
But the foundation did not give up the iPhone completely. For proof, announced on Thursday that Firefox Home will be submitted to Apple to enter the App Store.
This tool is based on Firefox Sync that can be found on the iPhone’s browsing history, favorites and also its last open tabs in a Firefox session on computer through automatic synchronization.
The interface looks like a search engine and typing the first letters of a website, the user found in his history or his favorites. The idea is to browse with Firefox on his PC and found on the iPhone web pages as they were open on their computer.
What prolong the experience of Red Panda on iPhone without really going through a browser as such …. “We intend to provide users with access to the flight of their history, bookmarks and open tabs on their iPhone, giving them another reason to use Firefox on their desktop,” says Mozilla in a note.

The app is called Firefox Home, and it gives iPhone users instant access to their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and the set of tabs from their most recent browser session. What’s more, it provides Firefox “Awesome Bar” capability that enables people to get to their favorite web sites with minimal typing. Sure it seems to be a nice app for the Iphone.
