The iPad and the iPod Touch are great tools for reading eBooks, magazines, newspapers and all other types of written materials. However, the main difference between the two is the fact that with the iPad, users can easily access online materials such as eBooks via the iBook store. In addition, compared to the iPod Touch, the iPad has a much larger screen that enables it to hold more copies of reading materials at the same time.

The only operating system used in both gadgets is the iPhone OS and this limits the types of applications that can be used on them. Both devices do not have multitasking functionalities and this makes it even harder for people who are used to operating more than one application at the same time. In the real sense, iPad is just a newer version of iPod touch but much bigger and less portable.
