South Korea’s Fair Trade Commision fined Intel today, for the amount of $25 million for abusing their position in the marketplace to stifle AMD. According to the commission, the Santa Clara, Calif. tech giant had offered Trigem computer and Samsung Electronics rebates to buy microchips from Intel rather than AMD. The commission stated that South Korea’s companies had been pressured to buy the more expensive Intel chips, making PC costs higher.
