Want to receive up-to-date toy safety news? Yep, there’s even an app for that.

“The new Toy Safety app, brought to you by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, lets shoppers scroll through checklist-style facts about toy hazards, watch short video tips, check out the updated 2009 Toy Safety list and even report an unsafe toy – all on their phone while shopping,” according to a recent U.S. Public Interest Research Group press release.

Don’t have an iPhone? That’s ok as long as you a have an iPhone-carrying friend who is willing to pass along the breaking news. The press release explains that “the app is easily shared with friends and family using a viral email alert functionality so users can send an email to all of their contacts directly from the app.”
