There are a lot of great new apps and digital publications that have recently been developed for mobile devices. But if you don’t have the brand name of Netflix or Epicurious how do you successfully market your app?
BODY: No other medium can demonstrate the interactivity of an app like a well-produced video cut to the right music. Simply put: audio-visuals.
A sleek and stylish product demo video, or even a short informative documentary can quickly generate interest among consumers, reviewers and businesses. Many developers recognize the potential in video for marketing their apps and are always looking for new and dynamic ways to present their product to an increasingly savvy public.
Take WIRED Magazine and Adobe Systems for example. The two recently partnered to create WIRED Reader, an Ipad application that allows readers to experience a digital/interactive edition of the magazine. WIRED and Adobe hired East Bay production company Studio B Films to produce a 60-sec demo video. The snappy, fast-paced piece allowed WIRED to illustrate how the digital edition of their magazine (as seen on the Ipad) has all the visual impact of its paper version, enhanced by interactive video and animated infographics. At the same time, it gave Adobe an opportunity to showcase its new AIR platform to developers.
Here’s what Wired magazine had to say about the opportunity digital publishinghas presented them. “We can now offer you a history of Mars landings that lets you explore the red planet yourself. We can take you inside Trent Reznor’s recording studio and let you listen to snippets of his work in progress. And we can show you exactly how Pixar crafted each frame of its new movie, Toy Story 3″. Studio B’s job was to capture all of that in a video:
