Championship Gaming Series (CGS) will be launching its 2008 regular season at EA’s Los Angeles development studio, beginning Monday, June 2, 2008 and running through Friday, June 13.
EA’s Los Angeles studios will be hosting the first matches of the season to be played between Los Angeles Complexity, New York 3D, Dallas Venom, San Francisco Optx, Carolina Core and defending world champion Chicago Chimera.
Coming off hugely successful competitions in Europe and Asia, where 80,000 spectators witnessed the Pan Asian Final over three days in Wuhan, China at the world’s first eSports arena, CGS heats up in North America with the kick off of regular season next week. The opening match will be a classic showdown between Chicago and Carolina in a rematch of both the 2007 North American final and the 2007 World Final.
