In a recent interview with Nancy Smith (the head of The Sims department in EA) She talks about the future of The Sims. She stated that The Sims may soon become a multiplayer game (not mentioning the recent failure with ‘The Sims Online’, which was dropped after a very short time.) She discussed some new ideas for the online world, but still said users would have to buy and download a program onto there computer to play, as where games like Habbo Hotel, and Club Penguin can be played completely within your web browser. 

But who knows, maybe this idea will not bomb like their last one did – The Sims Online.
