To help cut fuel costs Ford has launched a new iPhone app as the latest addition to the company’s Econo Check Service. The new Ford Check app calculates potential fuel savings for any car and pick up fuel efficient driving tips on any iPhone or iPad.
Ford Cars will be fitted with a data logger for seven days to monitor how they are driven; The Econo Check chip is then removed to download the data where a tailored report advises how modifying gear changes, anticipation, acceleration and braking will improve fuel economy.
Resulting savings are also shown, which can be up to 25% or £474 a year according to a study of 50,000 drivers, with the latest fuel price rise, its price is now £11.99 to help drivers minimise petrol and diesel use.
All iPhone and iPod users can access Ford Econo Check tips and generalised data for any vehicle make, it also helps Ford drivers to locate local dealers to as far as <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.lifestyleeurope.co.uk”>Ford Kent</a> to book an Econo Check for their personalised report.
Ford customer service marketing manager, Paul Muers, said: “This new Econo Check app will help motorists to drive more fuel efficiently. Our 2011 price of £11.99 for an Econo Check at a dealership makes the service an ideal new year resolution to pursue with fuel prices at a record high.”
The Ford Econo Check app is available from iTunes free of charge; the £11.99 Econo Check on eligible ford vehicles will receive £10 refundable against the next scheduled service.
