I have a few good feelings about the Ipad that Apple just came out with. I suppose I will start with those first, just to keep people reading down to what I don’t like about it.
1. I think the new email feature is great especially for my business. We get hundreds of emails a day from clients, potential clients, people from india (goes right in the trash), etc. Sometimes it’s difficult to sort out all the mail. The IPad gives you the ability to review your mail in a quickly and organized fashion. I think it’s a great idea to have a full sized keyboard also – it’ll help when I’m typing all the emails!)
2. I love the fast, easy, and beautiful display to search the web. This product will be amazing when I go see clients. Now there is no reason to drag along my entire laptop because I can just bring this little display that is in between my iphone and laptop and it will do the same deed. Now all I have to do is find an application that will allow me to run word and edit documents (I know there are a few out there already and I’ve tried a few out but have not 100% liked any so far).
3. The new calendar feature is pretty cool and will help organize my day since I always have a million and one things to do. I think the new photo gallery features is pretty nifty also.
4. The book store looks really cool and if it is as easy as the other online stores (like itunes and app store) it will be a breeze. Right now on the Iphone kindle I have to go to a web page to buy my books and it’s really annoying. (One thing that I didn’t catch is if they are going to allow you to have that application on the iphone and allow you to have the books on both your Ipad and Iphone. Now that would be cool)
5. Of course you know apple always does it up with the display and multi-touch features, but the fact that you will be able to use Iphone applications on it is a pretty awesome feature!
6. Portable Television – You can now watch movies on the new Ipad which is pretty awesome!
Now – I just gave you all the features I liked about the Ipad, but what about what I don’t like… Believe me I’m sparing you guys with the entire list of things I hate about it.
1. It’s the same exact thing as the Iphone except its 5x the size (I don’t know the exact size). So what they changed a few applications. I don’t see that big of a difference!
2. I’m sorry but did anyone check the price of the Ipad? I thought that I was looking at a laptop. The funny part is if you watched the video the guy said “We thought this was going to be much more expensive but it starts at only 9.99!” – Go look at dell.com you can buy an entire laptop for that price.
3. Oh by the way AT&T users who have Iphone – Don’t think you are getting a discount on your data plan (after you purchase your Ipad for an extra 130 dollars just to get 3G).
4. The Ipad doesn’t have a camera nor does it have the ability to make phone calls. So the “Iphone on steroids” isn’t really the correct term.
5. The Ipad is still an LCD screen which isn’t going to be the best and easiest thing to read on as the Nook or Kindle that has the drab no light screen that is easy on the eyes.
6. The Nook and Kindle are able to stay on for weeks if needed. This is great for avid book readers who love to read because they won’t have to recharge it. The ten hours of battery life might not be long enough for those traveling across the world.
Those are my thoughts so far! But in all honesty if it wasn’t 500 dollars I would have gotten one, but I’m not going to spend that kind of money on a jacked up Iphone when I already have an Iphone.
