Apple is going to release its much anticipated iPad tablet from April 3. The first batch of iPads is already sold out; therefore people will have to wait little bit if they pre-order the device now. At present, the device is not available in the market, but the company has released few videos to preview more details about the iPad’s “magical and revolutionary” capabilities.

Keynote presentation app
Apple has introduced Keynote presentation capabilities in the iPad, which translates the presentation to a multi-touch interface. Users can change the position by tapping and holding a new slide to another new position. Further, users can select multiple slides for changes.
It is reported that the Keynote can access images stored in the iPad’s Photo app. Users can alter a photo, which includes resizing; adding a variety of borders and shadows; changing zoom, rotation, and opacity; and other edits. Consumers can upload existing Keynote presentations from their Macs or Windows PCs. Moreover, presentations can be displayed on iPad or a projector or TV with the help of optional VGA adapter.
New iBooks, Safari, and Photos apps
One of the key applications of Apple in iPad is iBooks, which will challenge the position of Amazon’s Kindle in the eBook reader market. While iPad deliver texts and books in color, the Kindle offers monochrome e-paper. Further, iPad will offer options for backlighting. The company added that users can even change the font size and style with iBooks app and also access the iPad’s built-in dictionary service. Consumers can download e-books from Apple’s online iBookstore.
The company offers its Safari browser’s details like mail, photo, and video apps; YouTube access; and iPod and iTunes store capabilities. Also, the browser gets updated bookmark option.
In its Photos option, user can also add the pictures from iPhoto for the face-recognition technology. The pictures also carry geo-tagging capabilities; hence provide details about where they were shot. The company also announced optional iPad Camera Connection Kit to connect camera or SD card for data transfer.
Mail, iPod, Videos, YouTube, and iTunes apps
Users can access Mail app, which appear better than normal emailing system. By changing landscape or portrait modes, users can change the way of email viewing and their access. Users can review their deleting messages and also search their emails, the function which is absent in iPhone. For music, the iPad’s iPod app works as per expectations and also comes with “Genius Mixes” capability found in the Mac’s iTunes.
Further, the device’s new user interface helps the user to preview, buy and wirelessly download music or movies, TV shows, podcasts, music videos and audio-books. In addition, users can watch YouTube videos in portrait mode.
Pages and Numbers
To complete their official tasks, iPad offers Pages and Numbers software to business people. Pages is an application for word processor and page layout. It is part of Apple’s iWork productivity suite and runs on the Mac OS X operating system. Whereas, Numbers is a spreadsheet app like Microsoft’s Excel.
