I love trying out games on my iPod and I heard there was a new one out there that many people were enjoying called We Rule. After hearing about the game, I decided to download and try it out.
With We Rule, you are the king or queen of your land and your goal is to expand your kingdom and interact with friends in neighboring kingdoms.
What I Liked about We Rule
This is very much a social game, where you can add your friends and you can interact by ordering from each other. This allows you to both win, with experience and gold while a unique item is being crafted.
If you want to speed some things up, you can either earn some mojo by leveling up or you can buy some from the store.
I like the idea that the game is free, but you have the option to spend a little money to speed up your levels. As I’m a casual player I appreciate having the game being free.
The game reminds me a little bit of SimCity, where you are trying to construct a productive utopia. Instead of the modern times, We Rule has it taking place during the medieval times (with wizards thrown in for good measure).
What I Didn’t Like With We Rule
My main problem is the connection problems with the games. I’ve been trying to check on my crops or businesses to harvest and collect money, but I can’t login.
I also hope that you can upgrade some of the buildings at some point. I’ve been playing and as I’m building on my little kingdom, the building process is a little repetitious.
The good news is that the two issues I have with the game are completely fixable.
Verdict:
If you’re a fan of Farmville or Café World, We Rule would be a great fit for you. It can be a great little side game or a more involved project, depending on how you play it. Since it’s free, I would recommend you trying it and seeing if it fits you.
