We would like to show you our second thoughts after a year later with the upgrades of The Force Unleashed for Xbox360. I’ve been having a fun time playing it and I hope by Tuesday to have finished the game.
Loved
Storyline and Characters: I really liked the story with the game, particularly how it works with the Star Wars time line. The story takes place between the two trilogies and it seeks to connect the dots and fill in some blanks with the Empire and the Rebellion.
I’m not giving away big plot points, but it is worth getting the game. Vader is so evil and it’s fun to watch him do his thing.
The characters were interesting and levels were beautiful; I just wished the story was a developed a bit more and the game was longer (a sign that it was enjoyable). My favorite character in TFU is PROXY. He reminds me of a nicer version of HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic.
Force Powers: I loved, loved, loved it! The effects are very cool and on more than one mission, I stayed in a room until I completely ripped it apart with my powers. The Force powers you can use include:
- Force push
- Force grip
- Repulse
- Force lightning
You can use them in combination to create devastating attacks for your opponents, such as Aerial Ambush, Dashing Shock and Lightening Bomb.
My favorite? I’m going with Force Lightening.
The Stormtoopers are reacting how I felt about the Imperial Star Destroyer mission. Pain.
Hated
Glitches: I lost count on some glitches in the game. At the very least, I didn’t get the same glitch twice and in the course of the game, there were infrequent. For example I managed to get embedded into a rock while staring down a rancor.
Another problem I have is with the targeting system. The game auto targets and it gets it wrong a few times. I’m battling Vader now and I’m targeting everything but him.
Imperial Star Destroyer: Insane battle sequence and I probably spent over an hour on this one. The controller advice on the screen didn’t always match what I needed to do to get the Imperial Star Destroyer down. I was so happy when this part was over, which is a shame since I liked that best from the preview commercial.
Verdict:
I’m glad we have the game and I’ll play it again, as I still do with Knights of the Old Republic (which is still my favorite Star Wars game). It’s a definitely fun game and if you’re a Jedi/Sith fan, it will keep you busy for a bit.
