Customer Review:
I have owned my MacBook Pro about three weeks. I already owned and is still regularly MacBook 13.3-inch screen. I really liked the PC using a PC with Windows operating system. MacBook Pro is much better than the current model MacBook. It’s faster and Apple did a really good improvement in OS in recent years.
But I say not as fast as I expected. I would recommend that before you can buy the fastest processor you can get. I did with my old MacBook, and served me well.
What I like about Apple in general is that almost five years of use I have not had an accident and loses all its data. When I use a Windows PC, which took place every 6 months when I went to a new computer.

No Finer Laptop on the Market!
I sold a MacBook Pro 15″ about 6 months ago as I wanted to downsize to something smaller and lighter. I liked Windows 7 and decided to save some money and try out a laptop other than a Mac for once. I am pretty picky and after a ton of research, decided on a Sony Vaio Y Series. Nice looking, great keyboard, light, but terrible display. I returned it and tried an Acer Timeline 13 incher. Nice looking, nice display, glossy/springy keyboard (yuk). Returned it as well. Picked up a 13″ MacBook Pro at my Mom’s house and used it for a while and fell back in love. I realized for a couple hundred more dollars, I get a laptop that is BY FAR the best engineered machine out there with the best fit and finish. It is night and day using a MacBook Pro vs the plasticky laptops that exist on Windows side.
This baby is SOLID, snappy, and has a beautiful screen and a great keyboard. All the websites rank this as the top laptop out there, and for good reason. The only downside is that the stock 250GB drive was a bit small for my needs. I wanted to create a triple boot system with Mac OSX, Ubuntu Linux and Windows 7. So I replaced it with a Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm drive I purchased from Amazon at the same time. Installation was easy, and the drive is silent and FAST! This little MacBook Pro is one sexy, snappy machine! I highly recommend, because you really do get what you pay for!

Mac Attack
This is my first Mac so I was hesitant and curious to see if I could still get the productivity out of a different operating system with different software. Not only is this a great product but in every possible way superior to every PC computer or laptop out there. Let’s start with the basics: HD is 250gb which I would love more but is still plenty of room for all of my Music and Movies being a media buff. The Ram amazing at 4gb and the Processor is a duo core 2.4 ghz meaning you can run anything and multiples very very fast. I have run every program on my computer simultaneously with no slow down!
But where Mac really shines to me is the design of the laptop and the ease of use of its operating system. MacbookPro is made of solid aluminum. It feels like it could stop bullets or get run over by a semi and still work. It is light and portable and the screen while smaller than the 15.5 I was used to was plenty big for me at 13″. This mac is also skinny, a slot loading CD drive makes it the thinnest laptop you’ll see besides the Macbook Air, and the screen is easy to pull open without your laptop flopping everywhere like my former HP did before it burst into flames…
Now to the operating system: Mac OSX has so many features most of the time I don’t know I can even do the stuff that it makes possible. So many tasks that you would have to find 3rd party software for in Windows are built into and easy to use in the Mac OS. I have a dual display with a secondary monitor and Mac OS lets you change both the background of each separately from each other, as well as determine which will be the “main” monitor, as well as determine the positioning etc of each with ease. Win 7 while very good, does not even come close to this functionality. How do I know? I have win 7 on my mac! Bootcamp comes with Mac OS and helps you to easily load any version of windows on a separate partition on your HD. Bootcamp is amazing! It allows you to use the superior performance of your mac’s processor and speed with an operating system that most of your software is already made fore.
Some other incredible things about the Mac OS: CD Burning is built in, ISO burns etc are very fast and very easy to do. Diagnostics are a cinch even for people that don’t know much about computers. Formatting, which is also called “erase” in Mac OS is simple and allows you to change the file system of local HD as well as easy disc backup with Time Machine, or creating an image of your entire hard drive in two steps, very helpful if you want to restore without loading all of your data all over again.
Finally there is the tracpad…probably the best invention on the Mac. It allows you to go forward and back with three fingers, click with two for a “right” click, and swipe with four to view all of your programs or clear your desktop. Finally, the entire tracpad is one big click mouse, so you just push in your finger wherever to click. The tracpad is also twice or three times the size of normal tracpads on PC lappys.
All in all Mac is everything you’ve heard and more. It is a computer for those who think things should be simple and innovative. The only thing I would add to this machine is a blu ray player…
So if you are sick of repairing your HP or Dell, or whatever other brand of PC you have, stop the pain, and buy yourself a Macbook Pro, you will never regret it, I didn’t!

Macbook Pro
My first Macbook after a many years of Windows. I’m amazed how easy everything seemed to be. Moving documents, connecting printers, sharing files, connecting to email servers. After the tyranny of Windows it’s quite a revelation! Installed Parallels Desktop and windows 7 without problems to run a couple of apps I need for work. Glad I made the switch!

Finest writer’s instrument ever invented.
I bought my MBP, got it home…and it worked immediately. My only regret is almost three decades of self-imposed suffering using various Microsquish products, from 3.2 through XP…no more unasked-for surprises, worthless ‘try-me’ money-hook software, memorizing 800-phone numbers to Renton or Bangladesh for help, no endless fights with ‘improvements’. The 13″ Pro is extremely portable, much more capable than any netbook, and Apple has somehow managed to cram ease of use, rapidity, and functionality into the sensuous uni-body. Yup, I love it. It is the finest writer’s instrument I have ever touched. If I could afford it, I’d get another one and hide it away in case the world ends. Or use it for a pillow… Get one: you’ll not regret it. Life is too short for MS-masochism.

HAVE A QUESTION!
I’ve heard their are some major issues with the hinge for macbooks and macbook pros, and the macbook air, I haven’t read any reviews on here that address that, my question is have any of you experienced this problem? I have been researching this product for weeks, I had it down to the exact cent that the bill with all software included will come to when i make the final purchase in the fall and I noticed ALOT of people have issues with a flimsy hinge that connects the LCD screen to the unibody, and problems begin occurring right out of the box. This could be a turning point in my quest for a mac if it turns out to be a major issue.
This review board seems to be relatively pro-mac and wouldn’t feed me false info just because im gonna buy a mac like some PC “radicals” seem to have done. Any info on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Sleek, intuitive, and fast
This is my first Apple computer, but I have used other Apple products before (ipod, iPhone) and I am very happy that I converted. It is very light and cool-looking. The trackpad is my favorite feature of this machine; it makes navigation easy and makes everything available literally at your finger tips. The initial start up take about 5 minutes and the computer is ready to use right away without loading any software. Applications and utilities are intuitive and very customizable, not to mention easy to use. This computer works very fast even with the older processor. It does slow down minimally when there are more spaces open running multiple apps, but it is not a nuisance. Overall, an amazing buy.

This little baby rocks!
First let me say that I have spent the vast majority of my professional life working on PCs, mostly Dells. I also bought Dell PCs for my home and have been through 3 or 4 at this point. I’ve had Windows 95, Windows Millenium, and Windows XP. Last year, when my last Dell appeared to outlive its usefulness at about 4 1/2 years, having slowed down to a crawl and almost coming to a stop thanks to McAfee antivirus protection, I decided it was time for my next computer. So I started doing my typical exhaustive research. At that time, Windows Vista had the market and I heard nothing but negative things about it. At the same time, I’d noticed that one by one, most of my friends had switched to Mac. So I finally decided to do that, too. Bought an iMac 24″ and have never been a happier camper on the computer. Love, love, love it.
This spring, anticipating some work travel coming up and also foot surgery in the summer that will keep me at home, mostly on the couch, for a good 12 weeks, I decided it was time for a portable something. Friends showed me their Asus Netbooks, and I was intrigued. Checked it out and thought I’d get one. Even though they were Windows-based. But I liked the long battery life. Then I got enticed by the MacBook Air, but decided that as sexy and light at it is, it was too expensive for what you got and the battery life was awful. Next I was looking at the Asus “Thin and Light” models, which looked like a good compromise. Long battery life, lightweight, and several hundred dollars cheaper than the MacBook Pro 13″ which I also looked at. What to do, what to do. Well, after reading what seemed like hundreds of customer reviews not only for the computers but for Windows 7, I finally realized that I really and truly wanted the Mac. The Windows users were grousing a lot. The Mac users just loved their computers. Getting my tax refund check in the mail the morning I was going to make a purchase clinched the deal. I bought the 13″ MacBook Pro.
I received it this weekend, along with an Airport Express router, set it all up with little difficulty, and was happily — very happily — playing with my new MBP yesterday. I couldn’t be happier. The computer is a joy to look at and work on. The display is clear, sharp, and beautiful. The keyboard is very comfortable, even typing on my lap. I just adore the trackpad, even though I’m still getting used to all the finger movements. It found the internet and my network printer in a snap.
The only thing that didn’t work well with copying files from my iMac with Migration Assistant. I probably did something wrong and will have to call Apple Support to figure it out, but all my files got dumped into one directory that I have trouble finding. I assumed the photos would go to iPhoto, the music to iTunes, and the Word docs to Word. But noooooooo! Hopefully, my friends at Apple Care will help me out — they were wonderful when I was trying to set up my network printer.
So I’m happy. Very happy. My husband’s happy, too, since I won’t be kicking him off the iMac that much anymore, and we can both play on the web at the same time. There’s nothing much to watch on TV anyway!
Edit: I noticed that the MacBook Pro is no longer available directly from Amazon and delivered free by Prime. What happened? This is just a scant week after I bought it. Also, the printer I bought, the Canon PIXMA 560 is also no longer available through Prime, even though that’s how I bought it less than a week ago. What gives?
Edit 2: So, I see this is back to being available directly from Amazon and shipped free with Prime. How weird!
